A Story You Made Possible

Help us bring hope this winter
Winter is a difficult time for the homeless, the weather is changeable and the nights are closing in. It will be dark by 4pm. We all know our summer is over and the cold is here. And they know it too. Most of us are putting the final touches to our Christmas and planning the festivities. But for the homeless, Christmas is a time of loneliness and cold. We serve more breakfasts at this time of year, give out more clothing and just can't keep up with the requests for blankets and sleeping bags. Your donations to The Whitechapel Mission help transform lives! It is financial contributions and donated goods and services that make it possible for The Whitechapel Mission to provide help and hope to the homeless and poor of London. There are many ways for you to donate and help bring about life transformation in men and women in London. Please make a donation now and support our work this winter. Help us bring hope this Winter! Every day the Whitechapel Mission helps over 250 people, and as many as 300. Many of them come to us because they are living on the streets or have become homeless through family breakdown, violence, poverty or discrimination. Others may be unfairly threatened with eviction, or living in property that is damp, dangerous or overcrowded. |

Joe had been living rough on the streets since he was a teenager. In and out of care, foster homes and detention centres. When he first came to The Whitechapel Misison, all he wanted was clean clothes, a hot shower and something to eat. Through our life skills centre, he has been inspired to learn the skills and confidence to move himself forward. He's been taught about IT, writing a CV, cooking and interview skills. We've helped him secure accommodation and benefits; and, most recently, a job in the post room of a global bank.
