always the homeless first

If you are homeless

If you are homeless, worried you may soon become homeless, or having problems paying your rent or mortgage, the Tower Hamlets homeless service may be able to help.

Tower Hamlets homeless service may be able to help you if:

  • you have dependant children
  • someone in your household is pregnant
  • you are at risk of violence
  • you have nowhere to live because of an emergency like a fire or flood
  • you are vulnerable – because you are old, disabled, ill or for another reason.

Unfortunately, Tower Hamlets homeless service can’t help everyone in these groups. This is a complicated area of housing law but, as a rough guide, if you’ve been turned down for welfare benefits you’re unlikely to be eligible for homeless services.
