The Whitechapel Mission is a
London based charity working with people that are homeless since
1876. We are not and do not intend to be a national
charity. Our strength is in knowing our limitations and building
relationships with the people that come through our door. The above
promise that we make to all of our supporters can only be kept if we are large
enough to make a difference, while remaining small enough to deliver the
services.
Every day Whitechapel helps well over 150
people. Many of them come to us because they are living on the
streets or have become homeless through family breakdown, violence, poverty or
discrimination. Others may be unfairly threatened with eviction, or
living in property that is damp, dangerous or overcrowded.
