Before we can help somebody make a claim for housing benefit or
unemployment, they need to be able to prove who they are. This means a birth
certificate, passport or other photo ID. Not so easy if you are sleeping rough.
To help somebody get their foot on the first rung of the ladder costs
£11.40.
If you are struggling to find the right gift for somebody,
why not consider buying a birth certificate in their name, or a blanket to keep
a homeless person warm tonight? To continue our work amongst Londons poor
and homeless costs more than £500,000 every year, so it's hardly
surprising that we really mean it when we say that every penny
counts.
And one of the methods we hope to use to bring in those vital
funds is to sell a wide range of socially responsible gifts.
Our
groundbreaking work, funded overwhelmingly by donations from the general
public, delivers services that are designed to change lives.
